This surprises people. But for the last few years, I stopped using sunscreen — and my skin looks better than ever. Here’s why:
Why I Don’t Use Sunscreen
Many sunscreens contain hormone-disrupting chemicals
Blocking all UV disrupts Vitamin D production — critical for longevity, hormones, and mood
False security = overexposure to sun at bad times
My skin actually got more resilient without it
What I Do Instead:
Internal Protection
Astaxanthin (natural antioxidant, SPF from within)
Polyphenols from berries, green tea
Healthy fats (avocados, omega-3s) support skin resilience
Smart Exposure
Build up sun tolerance gradually
Get sun before 10 AM or after 4 PM
Avoid long exposure at solar noon
Cover Up
Wear a light shirt or wide-brim hat when needed
Stay in the shade after 20–30 minutes
I still respect the sun. But I work with it, not against it.
